We are entering into the third month of 2010. This means that all of you that stated you want to lose weight in 2010 and haven’t started, the clock is ticking. Don’t worry you are not alone. One way to jump start your weight loss would be a program called P90X which was developed by Tony Horton, a popular fitness trainer.
It seems that every few years you have a new exercise or diet fad that takes the market by storm. I’m not arguing that they do not work, I believe many do. I have even participated in a few and received good results. What makes P90X different? You be the judge.
P90X comes with 12 different workouts. When I say different I do not mean working different body parts. I mean that the routines are totally different. One day you are working chest and back, the next week you may be doing yoga routines, the next week you may be doing kempo. So as far as variety goes and the possibility of getting bored with the workout I don’t think you will have to worry.
Most any exercise program comes with a nutrition program and P90X is no different. The P90X diet program is broken down into three phases. Phase one is called Fat Shredder and it is a high-protein based diet designed to feed your muscles while rapidly shedding fat.
Phase two is called Energy Booster and is a balance of carbs and protein with lower fat to achieve additional energy. Finally, phase three is called Endurance Maximizer and is called an athletic diet of complex carbs, lean protein, and lower fat.
The P90X website has success stories and before and after photos that are really inspiring. Ultimately, I think that any exercise program will work if you exercise and eat correctly.
I do believe though, that there are ways to optimize your results and it looks like P90X may do this. I do not believe P90X is a silver bullet but with hard work P90X may produce. So, if you are looking for a way to get started on that New Year’s resolution to get fit, P90X may be the way.
