Happy Monday everyone! TCP hopes you all had a great and consensual weekend!
As we found out with our last Consensual Mixtape, music can help us explore sex and sexual communication in an extremely palatable and exciting way. So, we’re following up with another!
Here’s the concept- this mixtape will approach consent from the moment of response. The first highlighted how to ask for your partner’s desire. This one would be the respectful retort to “How do you want me to get you hot?” Since a lot of music doesn’t take the initiate to ask questions and it loves to describe the performer’s pleasure, this approach would highlight how communicating desire is a huge part of consent.
For example, Rihanna’s “Rude Boy”:
I like the way you touch me there
I like the way you pull my hair
Babe, if I don’t feel it I ain’t faking, no, no
I like when you tell me ‘kiss you there’
I like when you tell me ‘move it there’
