When you bring the consensual project to school, outreaching for your event is as easy as it gets! The Consensual Project takes pride in having a packed house, (we're all about sharing the love). So, in order to ensure a successful event every time, we stick to the rule of three's to maximize participation.
Step One: Facebook
One to two weeks prior to the event create a Facebook event with the following description:
Title: Consent Workshop: From Hookups to Relationships
"Come immerse yourself in a sex-positive environment and learn why consensual hooking up is hotter hooking up. Learn ways to build consent with your partners and hookups, and how to best express yourself to discover common ground with those your into. Oh, and did we mention free sex toys?"
Highly recommended suggestions:
- Use our suggested Facebook event image.
- Upload the Facebook event image to the event for larger viewing.
- Send a message the day of or the day before and let everyone who's attending that the event is fast approaching!
- Get three friends to invite all of their friends from school.
Step Two: Flyer
Please select any and all of these flyers to advertise the event a week or two in advance. You know the hot spots on campus and if you would like any flyering advice, please feel free to contact me!
Step Three: Your choice!
Consent is all about choice. Well, so is effective outreach. You know your campus better than we do, which is why we always leave the third option open. Whichever outlet you think would work best, please pursue!. This could be anything from your school's website forums, having RA's announce the event to their floors, making an announcement at a student event, campus wide emails, or something else. Whatever you think is most effective!
So long as you pursue all three options thoroughly, the event takes care of itself!
